Job Summary
The Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy is creating a Program Manager position to support the development and implementation of our new Online Master of Public Affairs (MPA) program. Reporting to the Online MPA Faculty Director and working closely with staff and faculty across the school, you will provide program and operations management to lead the launch of this new degree program at the Ford School.

Responsibilities*
Program Development
- Help develop and implement the Ford School's new online MPA degree program.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and senior leaders to develop excellent, innovative programs.
- Support efforts of Ford School leadership to ensure plans and goals align with organizational priorities.
- Monitor emerging needs/interests among key stakeholders (e.g. students, employers, alum) to forecast trends and opportunities that inform programming.
- Represent the Ford School with the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) and in forums related to executive education and digital learning. Build connections with and strategically collaborate with other executive education/professional development offerings around U-M campus.
Relationship Cultivation and Communications
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to support strategies for outreach, marketing, recruitment, enrollment management, and retention for the Online MPA program.
- Support efforts to identify and engage external partners.
- Provide excellent customer service and craft high-level communications for engaging with partner organizations and prospective/enrolled students.
Program Implementation and Operations Management
- Work with Ford School, Center for Academic Innovation, and Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure all instructors and students have access to needed technology/software.
- Support program instructor's classroom needs.
- Implement programs, such as orientation and intensive residential workshop offerings, in close coordination with senior staff, academic deans, and faculty.
Event Coordination and Management
- Support cohort-wide activities such as orientation and graduation
- In coordination with the Online MPA faculty director, plan and implement two in-person residential experiences per year, including:
- Logistics, room scheduling and set-up, catering, arranging and supervising vendor service delivery, audiovisual equipment, virtual moderating
- Coordinate travel and lodging arrangements
- Monitor and respond to incoming information requests from students and course facilitators
- Day-of hosting and oversee event set-up
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, education, business, or related field
- 3+ years of experience managing complex projects from design to completion, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience in event planning and management
- Demonstrated experience writing and communicating with different audiences and stakeholders
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with online learning and/or online program management
- Experience with Canvas, Salesforce, and other CRM platforms
