Program Manager, Peak Events, AWS Enterprise Support Strategic Industries

The AWS Enterprise Support team is seeking a Program Manager for our operational Peak Events. The mission of the Peak Events team is to ensure the availability and reliability of AWS services in use for Amazon large scale events. We coordinate capacity planning, risk management, issue escalation, and control room staffing for events. We own readiness communication, documentation, and overall program management.

The right candidate will possess a program management background, will have demonstrated experience working large operational events, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You can thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

As a PM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. High judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience

- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
