The Program Manager for Wound Ostomy andContinence Care Nursing (PM WOCN) provides departmental leadership related tomanaging and delivering quality, cost effective patient and family centeredcare specifically, in the areas of Wound Ostomy and Continence Care. S/he isexpert in the WOCN standards of practice. S/he is accountable for developingand leading programs for improvement in WOCN related outcomes. Programsinclude, but not limited to reduction in Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries(HAPI), enhancing clinical nurses' knowledge related to WOCN and HAPI prevention,and other outcome data surrounding wound and ostomy patient care as needed.This work includes the involvement of key stakeholders such as clinical nursesand others involved or impacted by the program. As part of program management,s/he oversees the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination ofrelated data to various stakeholder groups.
S/heis an expert clinician and provides recommendations regarding managing anddelivering quality, cost effective patient and family centered carespecifically, in the areas of Wound Ostomy and Continence Care. S/he participatesin strategic planning, management and operation of the Nursing Department,ensuring quality patient care for patients in the following age groups:adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
ThePM WOCN evaluates the success of wound ostomy care programs and monitors thequality and continuity of care formally and informally through data analysis,direct observation, chart review, one to one interaction, and/or collaborationwith the health care team, Administrators, Multidisciplinary Practice, orManager. The PM WOCN will also assure the practice of the Patient and FamilyCentered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

Qualifications
- Bachelor'sDegree in Nursing required
- Master'sDegree in Nursing preferred
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure
- Certification in Basic Life Support for HealthcareProviders required
- Membership in a professional nursing organizationsencouraged
- Must have WOCN experience
