Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering Projects, this Program Scheduler will support three business units within Collins Aerospace located in Lenexa, KS and The Netherlands. This position will work closely with engineering management to develop strategy and tools to help implement a portfolio management system capable of portfolio scheduling, resource management, and earned value. The primary scheduling tool is Primavera P6 and additional tools such as Microsoft BI and Excel are available for reporting/dashboarding. In addition to the above, this position will support Program Management and Lead Engineers with schedule creation and maintenance, as well as working with scheduling support staff located in The Philippines. This position will occasionally need to flex availability to support calls with staff in Lenexa, KS (Central Time), The Netherlands (Central European Time), and The Philippines (Philippine Standard Time). The majority of the overlap will be with the Lenexa, KS facility.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain project performance and delivery information and report forecasts across multi-business portfolio
  • Assist with development of tools to automate interactions with PMs and engineers, and tools that interface with various systems
  • Key part of the team responsible for delivery of a large portfolio of programs
  • Manage projects from concept to completion using Primavera P6
  • Manage project baselines with integrity and work with IPTs to manage changes and risks Program planning and controls service and serve as one of the primary interfaces with the global organization
  • Analyze schedule critical path, manage budget and track earned value metrics and make recommendations to execute within cost and schedule goals


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the project management process such as cost control, change management, risk management and earned value
  • Experience in server based project management systems
  • Experience developing/coding program dashboards and reports
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, draw valid conclusions and drive solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast paced environment


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Excel and dashboarding skills (VBscript and SQL)
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project Server
  • Aerospace product development experience
