Overview

As Electric Boats backlog and work throughput increase, it becomes increasingly more imperative that EBIT organization work the right projects, at the right time, and within schedule and budget in order to support our growing business needs. In support of this goal the EBIT department has established the EBIT Project and Portfolio Management Office (PMO) that is responsible for the management of projects across all of EBIT.

The PMO team is responsible for the following:

• Project planning, which includes identifying candidate projects, categorizing projects, evaluating projects, prioritizing projects, balancing the project portfolio, selecting the projects to fund, determine funding strategy, and authorizing selected projects.
• Establishment and guidance for project management processes and best practices for EBIT.
• Performance monitoring of all EBIT projects which involves regular project progress updates, as well as monitoring and analysis of project metrics.
• Program management for major IT programs such as IPDE and ERP (Finance and Supply Chain).

As the team expands in size and responsibility the organization is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the IT leadership team as the PMO Supervisor. In this role the PMO Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

• Leading a team of Project managers that are responsible for performance of all application and infrastructure projects, which includes critical EBIT initiatives.
• Definition and establishment of project management processes and practices.

The PMO Supervisor is expected to provide day to day direction and guidance to a team of project managers, as well as the IT Project teams. In addition to the tactical aspects of this role, the PMO Supervisor is expected to contribute to the overall development and vision of the EBIT PMO.

• Candidate must be a self-starter with the proven ability to accomplish goals independently, with minimal oversight
• Candidate must be capable of working in a team environment and have proven ability to drive teams and meet deadlines
• Candidate must have the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Technology, Business, or Finance or related field
• 5 or more years of related work experience with proven project management skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity and/or experience with project management processes
