Job Duties

Position is with the Department of Corrections' Infrastructure & Environmental Management Unit (IEMU) located at department headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

Provides administrative support to the supervisor, resulting in timely completion of work. Represents supervisor in his/her absence. Provides procurement, fiscal, office, technical, and inventory support to the Infrastructure & Environmental Management Unit (IEMU). Enter purchase orders in eVA, prepares business documents, invoices, receiving reports, and maintains data tracking spreadsheets.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License. Experience with eVA or comparable procurement and financial software. Experience collecting and compiling data. Experience maintaining electronic filing systems. Knowledge of office/business procedures, basic accounting principles, and technical aspects of subject area. Office and technical support experience within state government. Attention to detail, skilled in performing work with numerical data, and general inventories. Ability to handle multiple projects, draft business correspondence, data collection, and present information in an organized format. Strong PC skills, spreadsheets, and word document programs. Experience using Microsoft Office software, especially spreadsheets, word processing, and databases. Ability to perform various duties for a staff of administrators, managers, engineers, coordinators, and specialists. Strong organizational and communication skills.

Additional Considerations

Knowledge of the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA), the Conflict-of-Interest Act (COI), the Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM), and Agency Procurement and Surplus Property Manual (APSPM). VCA and/or VCCO certification.Extensive working experience using eVA. Experience entering high volume of orders into eVA for procuring goods and services.
