Job Description:

The 2019 Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Outcome 5.4 Project is funded by a grant from the US Department of Education. This project has been developed to update and enhance current PreKindergarten Reports located on the Texas PK-16 Public Education Information Resource (TPEIR) website.

The SAS Visual Analytics (VA) Programmer and Report Developer will report to the TPEIR Unit Manager in the Research and Analysis Division. This twelve-month contract position performs highly complex SAS programming, data analysis, report building and conversion for the TPEIR public website. Specific job responsibilities include gathering data requirements, converting existing reports to SAS VA with SAS datasets as backend; designing, developing, and creating SAS datasets and SAS VA reports; and optimizing SAS code using best practices.

Required Skills:

• 7 years of experience in SAS base programming
• 7 years of experience in Data analysis
• 7 years of experience in SQL
• 4 years of experience in SAS Visual Analytics report creation
• 4 years of experience in Dataset creation
• 4 years of experience in Data warehousing and testing
• 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance Testing
• 4 years of experience in Creating and documenting requirements specifications, business rules, and user help information
• 4 years of experience in Excel

Preferred Skills:

• 4 years of experience in Microsoft Office products
• 1 year of experience in Crystal Reports
• 1 year of experience in Web development tools (.Net, c#, ASP, Microsoft Visual Studio)
• 1 year of experience in State educational data sources including PEIMS, teacher certification, Texas higher education, and STAAR
