In the role of Project Architect - Public Realm/Transportation, we'll count on you to:

  • Capacity and required skills to lead multidisciplinary teams and perform research, visioning, conceptualization, layout and
  • detailing on architectural and urban design projects
  • Independently coordinate work of a multidisciplinary team through multiple phases of project development
  • Establish owner/client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various public agencies for code compliance
  • and statutory reviews
  • Coordinate workload of various team members through multiple project phases to prepare and complete project
  • documents including conceptual sketches, diagrams, renderings, technical drawings and construction-ready packages
  • Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with other design and engineering disciplines
  • Perform QA/QC, technical and design reviews
  • Write and edit technical specifications
  • Achieve consensus with project stakeholders and Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents
  • Perform design services during construction as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Registered Architect in the State of California
  • Experience and thought generation in the areas of civic architecture, public spaces, urban design, aviation, rail and multi modal transportation facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED - Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max but not required.
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
