Position Summary:

Position Summary

The Manager of Project Controls oversees and manages a team of professionals responsible for planning and executing project control activities for TEiC Industrial Construction projects. This role entails coaching, evaluating, training, coordinating, and providing technical direction to specialists in project planning, scheduling, cost engineering, risk assessment/management, and reporting. The Manager of Project Controls collaborates closely with the TEiC leadership team, advising on estimating, proposals, contract terms, project management software utilization, and best practices in project planning and scheduling.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate performance of project controls specialists.
  • Develop and train personnel to support career development within project controls.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote professional development.

• Project Planning and Scheduling:
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of schedules using industry-standard software.
  • Provide guidance on schedule analysis to ensure accurate project sequencing.

• Cost Engineering / Analysis:
  • Prepare project budgets by analyzing cost estimates and resource requirements.
  • Advise on cost estimate inputs for proposal development.
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish project performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Analyze project data and prepare regular reports to communicate project performance.

• Risk Analysis and Management:
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
  • Monitor and track risks throughout the project lifecycle.

• Change Control:
  • Manage a change control process to handle project scope changes.
  • Evaluate change requests' impact on schedules, costs, and resources.

• Stakeholder Communication:
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide project controls support.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations effectively.

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial construction project control, with field experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising/managing project control specialists.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Experience presenting information and analysis to senior management.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, InEight, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industrial construction practices and relevant codes/regulations.
  • Experience in Power Generation and/or Oil, Gas, and Chemical construction projects preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP, CCP, CP) and MBA are a plus.

The base pay range for this role is $$115,000-$140,000 annually.
