Eight years of experience working with mainframe z/os based data sets, including seven years as a technical lead on NYS ITS projects involving mainframe systems and five years on projects involving distributed systems, five years of experience working on data migration/quality-based projects, and four years of experience using IBM DataStage ETL development.

The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:
• Associate's degree and seven years of experience
• Associate's degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and six years of experience
• Bachelor's degree and six years of experience
• Bachelor's degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and five years of experience
• Master's degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience

Duties Description Under the direction of an Assistant Director Information Technology Services 1, M-4, within Chief Technology Office, Shared Platform Services, Data Management Services, the Project Coordinator, SGE-29, will play a lead role in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Data Quality data migration and remediation efforts.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the NYS DMV Data Quality project technical strategy, spearhead the data strategy initiatives that support the DMV Transformation and DMV Modernization efforts, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
• Oversee multiple Data Quality Projects, manage and oversee all aspects of data quality for multiple critical DMV Data quality projects, including but not limited to Data Quality Staging, Data Quality Remediation, and VSAM Migration, which are pivotal to the DMV Transformation.
• Data Architecture Leadership, provide leadership in data architecture, designing and implementing frameworks that support the integration, processing, and management of DMV's data assets across various platforms and systems.
• Risk Mitigation, actively work to mitigate risks associated with the DMV transformation strategy, ensuring that the absence of this role does not jeopardize the success of the transformation efforts.
• Manage Data Quality Requests, handle the management of incoming Data Quality requests, prioritizing and addressing these requests to maintain high standards of data integrity and accuracy.
• Lead Data Quality Teams, provide leadership and guidance to the Data Quality and partnering with Enterprise Information Management teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficiency in managing DMV's data resources.
• Strategic Planning and Execution, engage in strategic planning for data related projects, ensuring that the execution of these plans aligns with the DMV's long-term goals for transformation and modernization.
• Stakeholder Engagement, collaborate with key stakeholders within and outside the DMV to gather requirements, communicate progress, and ensure that data strategies meet the evolving needs of the organization.
• Perform the full range of supervisor responsibilities.
