ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THE ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Healthcare IT Project Director for a consulting opportunity with one of our largest healthcare clients -- a large health system comprised of 30+ hospitals, 400+ clinics, and over 30,000 employees. The Health System is moving to Epic EHR, and a major initiative stemming from that program is to integrate all connected medical devices in the hospitals and clinics (~18,000).
This Project Director Director will be leading the end-to-end lifecycle to migrate the Medical Devices from current state (Cerner) to future operational state (Epic), including hiring and managing a team of BMDI / Clinical Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serving as the Project Director over a Medical Device Integration initiative, moving a large number of medical devices in hospitals and clinical sites over to Epic.
- Ensuring alignment with Program objectives and timelines for go-live dates
- Coordinating with, and communicating up to Executive Leadership and other key program stakeholders
- Planning for the integration of all medical devices in the health system - starting with Discovery and Assessment, high-level planning, hiring planning, etc.
- Overseeing, and managing each stage of the Medical Device integration lifecycle:
- Hiring for / Overseeing a team of Clinical Engineers
- Coordinating closely with the Epic team on the integration build
- Data migration/mapping away from the current EHR platform and into the new platform (Epic)
- middleware implementation
- system testing/ validation
- hardware support & TDR
- User training
- Go-Live and Elbow support
- Post go-live optimization
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Bachelor Degree in an IT or Healthcare related field
- Required 5+ years as a Healthcare IT Project Manager / Program Leader
- Required hands-on knowledge of / experience with Medical Devices / BMDI
- Required 8-10+ years of Healthcare Industry experience in a hospital setting
- Prior experience with Epic EHR BMDI integration
