Vice President of Operations - Electrification Distribution Solutions

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of extra-large and/or highly complex projects or take accountability for a portfolio of projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the oversight of team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution. Integrated into the project directing role, this position will also hold the responsibility to structure the strategic objectives and tactical deployment of supply chain that is aligned with the Solutions business. The work model for the role is: Hybrid This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in the US region. You will be mainly accountable for: • Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals. • Managing project reviews for large projects and Organizational Project Management (OPM) reviews/assessments and conducting competency assessments for the Project Execution teams on behalf of the local division. • Seeking internal improvement opportunities based on external project management practices with relevance to ABB and influencing the organization to improve project execution continuously. • Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer in accordance with the contract. • Providing valuable input and support from a supply chain perspective during project execution by acting as a potential escalation partner to the project team, leading vendor evaluation process and delivery of vendor scorecards and supporting the operations to minimize risk exposure coming from the supply part of the business. • Developing and maintaining the supply chain process for the Solutions business.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous management experience.
  • Experience in a supply chain role preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Lean six sigma certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel at short notice up to 25%.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
