Position Summary & Duties: The Project Engineer position is a contract position working for a specialty chemical client in El Dorado, AR.

The Project Engineer should possess substantial chemical plant engineering and maintenance experience. The Project Engineer will support a pilot plant staff of approximately 10-15 operations, maintenance, and engineering staff and liaise with various company consultants and experts

Project Engineer Job Description:
• Monitors plant operation and process variability and providing assistance to operators for troubleshooting equipment operation issues.
• Plans and coordinates routine and emergency maintenance work on the plant and equipment.
• Prepares and manages maintenance work orders and spare parts and materials inventories through the SAP system.
• The Project Engineer must track maintenance, spares, and related operational spending against established budgets.
• Participates in plant-wide maintenance planning and health and safety meetings.
• Prepares design sketches and specifications for modifications to the plant.
• Liaises with engineering consultants for more significant design changes to the plant.
• Conducts routine health, safety, security and environmental inspections of the plant.
• Assists the Plant Chemist/Analyst in collecting and managing process data.
• Prepares reports on plant operations and maintenance.
• Provides assistance in troubleshooting plant operation issues.
• Provides assistance to Plant Manager with purchasing and administrative duties.
• Liaises with maintenance and operations staff.


Qualifications:

Project Engineer Job Requirements:
• BS Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree required; chemical plant engineering and maintenance experience preferred.
• Other engineering degree with suitable process plant engineering and maintenance experience will be considered.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience, including:
o Engineering for process equipment (pumps, tanks, piping, valves, instrumentation) maintenance and small capital projects.
o Coordinating and managing routine and emergency maintenance.
o Health and safety planning and inspections prior to maintenance work.
o Using AutoCAD or similar drawing capability for making design sketches and modifications to existing 2-D drawings.
o Analysis of process and maintenance data and report writing.
o Purchasing of equipment, materials, and supplies - experience using SAP or similar purchasing requisition or maintenance requisition system experience an asset.
• Must be familiar with operating plant health and safety requirements.
• Must have solid written and verbal communications and personal computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or similar software) capability and AutoCAD or similar drawing software experience.
