PROJECT ENGINEER (Automation & Controls)

Company specializing in the design, installation, & servicing of electronic control systems and electronic drives is looking for an Automation and Controls Engineer. Some travel to customer locations (local & remote), will be required, and should not be more than 20% travel annually. Good customer communications to ensure proper execution of engineering projects. Anyone hired needs to reside in NJ, within approx 1/2 hour commute to the East Hanover area. NO RELOCATION,

Base salary approx $95K . This position pays overtime + bonus, and annual compensation should be approx $115K - $120K (possibly more) with overtime and bonus.

Will be involved with:

• Programing PLCs, HMIs VFD and Servo Drives
• Create and modify electrical schematics using CAD-based systems
• Generate Bills of Materials for projects
• Design and retrofit Database systems, SCADA, and Data Acquisition
• Create and modify HMI/touch screen applications

Requirements:

• BSEE, BS Engineering Technology or equivalent
• 5-10 years experience in automation and controls projects
• Proficiency in a variety of PLC programming software including RSLogix, RSView, Siemens Step 7, IEC61131-3 and others
• Integration of PLCs with HMIs, fieldbus networks, remote I/O and drives
• Network communications with industry standard protocols such as Control Net, Device Net, Industrial Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, SERCOS, etc.
• Experience with CAD programs
• Familiarity with Windows and MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point Experience with Information Management programs such as Rockwell's Factory Talk and/or Wonder Ware a plus
• Understanding of Industrial IT fundamentals also a plus (i.e., building domain controllers, SQL server databases and replication, data exchange, multi-site distributed networks)
