Job Summary
Design, develop, and manage projects for enlarging, modifying, and maintaining OSB (Oriented Strand Board) functions to improve products and related processes. Improve the facility's bottom line by revealing ways to minimize waste and resources while increasing customer satisfaction. Provide technical support for production, maintenance, quality control, and management to ensure the safety, efficiency, quality, and performance of new and existing processes, equipment, and products. Optimize existing processes and products. Evaluate new processes and products through coordination with production, maintenance, research, and quality control.

Foster internal relationships with sector/corporate departments including EHS&S, operations, maintenance purchasing, and engineering while maintaining professional relationships with the entire Broken Bow, OK team. Foster professional relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the process of carrying out the responsibilities below.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Design, develop, and manage projects (Six Sigma, Process flow improvements, waste elimination, etc.) for enlarging, modifying, and maintaining the facility to improve products and related processes. Identify process improvement initiatives, while maintaining high EHS&S and quality standards. Analyze, identify, and resolve production challenges. Become a key stakeholder in root cause analysis for plant downgrade and major downtime issues. Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve key processes. Identify and recommend best-in-class processing equipment for targeted applications by meeting with vendors, running trials, and staying current on new technology. Assist production with new or modified equipment and processes by training, writing operating procedures, and conducting trial runs. Optimize existing and evaluate new processes and products by coordinating efforts of production, maintenance, and quality control personnel. Analyze plant operations focusing on bottlenecking of product flow. Incorporate environmental, health, safety, and sustainability requirements into daily decision-making. Contribute to the capital planning and implementation processes to complete significant equipment/process upgrades. Contractor selection and management Third-party Engineering selection and management Schedule, Budget, and Scope development for capital projects Take a "Hands-on" Project Approach Execution of capital projects through all phases of planning, implementation, and closure. Manage Capital Project Budgets which include Forecasting for future capital expenditures and accruals of expenditures. Drive Capital Projects promptly throughout the life cycle of the project Using CMMS systems and other software (Tabware, Oracle, Basware, AutoCAD) Issuing and/or understanding various work permits/documents (Hot Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, Job Safety Analysis) Developing Spare Parts List Providing Operations, Installation and Maintenance Manuals Be the point of contact for new equipment commissioning and start-up. Gathering stakeholder input during project development, implementation, and closure Support corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance as it relates to capital projects. Development of Bid Packages Incorporate environmental, health, safety, and sustainability requirements into every project. Change Management Becoming familiar with the OSB Process Interpretation of engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and process data sheets Becoming familiar with the OSB Process Other Duties assigned by the Capital Project Manager
Requirements & Preferred Competencies
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or similar technical degree) or a minimum of 5 years' equivalent experience. Process Optimization skills and experience. Written and oral communication skills. Interpersonal relation skills. Proficient in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, and Statistical Packages. Decision-making ability.
