Position Summary & Duties: The Project Manager role is direct-hire opportunity working for a Specialty Chemical manufacturer near Riceboro, GA.
The Project Manager will oversee large capital projects from inception to completion. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role involves managing project execution, improving processes, and ensuring timely, cost-effective project delivery.
Key Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Drive continuous improvement to achieve low-cost, high-quality production.
• Execute large capital projects, including scheduling, resource forecasting, and cost estimation.
• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and maintain timelines.
• Control project costs and ensure accurate financial forecasts.
• Review contractor bids, manage vendor performance, and oversee service agreements.
• Prepare and present project status reports, recommending actions as needed.
• Lead the project team, resolve interdisciplinary issues, and ensure quality.
• Maintain project management databases and oversee redlining of drawings.
• Lead start-up activities and troubleshoot technical issues with existing processes.
• Ensure project completion within budget and adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Project Manager Education/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process, production, or project engineering in an industrial, chemical or food manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics and Distributive Control Systems (DCS) is preferred.
• Experience with MS Project and SAP preferred.
• Ability to understand chemical manufacturing processes, interpret, and read blueprints and technical documents needed.
