About this job:



Operational responsibility for managing and coordinating the full life cycle administration of a project within one or more functional areas. Facilitates leadership decision-making for project priorities, district support structures and resource allocation. Administers the execution, maintenance, projects' implementation, change management, and cross-functional alignment of workstreams; ensures program and district compliance with relevant industry, state and federal regulations.

What You'll Do:


  • Manage teams to carry out assigned directions related to new school buildings, remodeling and repair of facilities, and facility planning; ensures that safety and District standards are met and that projects are on schedule and budget.
  • Directs the preparation of drawings and specifications for construction projects that may include mechanical, cooling, heating and controls as well as new buildings, additions, remodeling, and major repairs; provides communication to all stakeholders and affected parties on project schedule, scope, and impacts.
  • Coordinates with District strategic sourcing to manage the selection of architects, construction consultants, and construction contractors through appropriate bid processes.
  • Reviews design progress documents and construction contract documents for project intent and to ensure District standards are met.
  • Manages project costs, pay requests, and schedules of design consultants and contractors.
  • Participates in design and project construction meetings to ensure all user requirements are communicated to the architect and to assist in the resolution of construction problems.
  • Works extensively with internal District teams and departments and manages all internal communications in regards to project work and schedule with end users such as, but not limited to, operations and maintenance, principals, Quality Assurance/Quality Control teams, and public/community relation.
  • Performs and puts forth any internal paper work, systems input in order to get projects approved by internal management teams.
  • Manages project closeout for each project to ensure District receives complete and accurate documentation, including warranty, on each project.
  • Assists the Environmental Safety Specialist with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) management plan, conducts asbestos abatement activities, and complies with District hazmat program processes and procedures.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • In place of a degree, a minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Minimum three (3) years of combined experience in architecture or engineering and construction projects
  • Three (3) years of management experience involving both administrative and technical duties and responsibilities
  • Expertise in construction with an emphasis in mechanical systems is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Architect or Engineer license is desired.
  • Experience and proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
