The Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Group Engineering team is looking for a Converting Project Manager to lead the successful implementation of capital projects in the Towel and Tissue converting and packaging operations as well as the Dixie® operations. A successful candidate will be able to understand and develop relationships with the mill and division leadership team, be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, be customer focused, and continually seeking innovative ways to improve project execution.

This role is a home-based position as part of an engineering and project management organization primarily based in Green Bay, WI. Employee will provide support to our manufacturing facilities and can expect to travel. The amount will vary at times but should not exceed 50% on average per year.

Our Team

The Georgia-Pacific Projects and Engineering Team consists of approximately 180 individuals across the United States. We are engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and designers working with our 22 continuous manufacturing facilities to achieve one team, one vision, one result. The Power and Drives team focuses on delivering projects with an emphasis in power distribution, machine drive systems, engineering solutions, and technology platforms that enable our manufacturing capability to compete, win, and lead in the marketplace.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and Execute project investment venture summaries with full responsibility for managing scope, schedule, and estimates while applying judgment, initiative, economic and critical thinking skills.
  • Build and grow relationships with internal and external preferred partners.
  • Project management of select projects as needed to support resourcing demands
  • Develop and evaluate investment alternatives that provide the best long-term value creation solution, coordinating with the Facility, Business, Engineering, Sourcing and Legal teams.
  • Partner with procurement and sourcing teams to align on equipment and construction contracting strategies, including bidding, cost evaluation, selection, and award.
  • Manage third parties including but not limited to outside consultants, contractors, and technical resources.
  • Seek and use best knowledge and proactively share knowledge while embracing challenge to drive innovation.
  • Applying PBM® to drive long term value creation in support of manufacturing and business customers


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience in manufacturing, supporting operations, maintenance, or managing projects
  • Experience influencing stakeholders to achieve desired results
  • Able to travel up to 50%


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Project Engineering/Management experience supporting large capital projects over $1MM in the paper industry OR Project Engineering/ Management experience supporting multiple large capital projects over $5MM in the manufacturing industry
  • Five (5) or more years of project management experience in an industrial environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Science field
  • Paper converting and material handling experience
  • Experience in pulp & paper and/or industrial processes and systems
  • Experience in manufacturing operations


For this role, we anticipate paying $115k - $175k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form
