The Patient Experience team is responsible for driving high impact, market-wide efforts to improve our patients' experience, thereby promoting great member retention, positive word of mouth and overall business growth. Key priorities for the team include building a patient-centered service culture ("Optum Cares"), a standardized and improved end-to-end patient journey ("Ambulatory Care Excellences"), clinician communication coaching, site-level patient experience action planning, an organizational culture that centers patient needs and preferences in all processes, and the infrastructure to define, measure and drive continued progress across all core metrics.

The Project Manager, Patient Experience will support these efforts by planning for and driving implementation of key programs, coordinating with stakeholders across the organization, and leading project reporting and data analyses.

If you reside in Southern California, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project management to support roll out of Ambulatory Care Excellence, a critical market initiative to create a standardized patient journey; additionally project planning/tracking and data analysis for other Process Improvement initiatives
  • Planning and project management of core Experience programs, such as peer-to-peer coaching programs of clinicians and clinic leaders, and How Optum Cares, our marquee initiative focused on standardizing service standards throughout California
  • Program manage regional engagement with all California clinics via data analysis, communication with stakeholders, and logistics coordination; will support all of our regional leads to effectively engage all clinic leaders

This is an operations role with a solid bias for action. The ideal candidate would be:

  • A collaborative project manager, accountable for the overall execution of multiple key projects
  • A details person, who enjoys tracking program progress and ensuring quality standards
  • A problem solver with experience generating key insights and solutions via data analyses by scoping key metrics from multiple data sources, determining analysis methodology and summarizing outcomes /solutions
  • A self-starter, ambitious and pro-active with a solid drive to "get stuff done"
  • A solid presenter and communicator, able to empathize with different stakeholder audiences and create clear, compelling communications

Required Qualification:

  • 3+ years of experience in health care, corporate strategy or related field

  • High-level of attention to detail and accuracy

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
