Overview
Per diem.

Responsible for planning and managing project objectives and driving the project plan through capturing project scope, facilitating solution development, collaborating with departmental and Senior / Executive Leadership, and leading team members using standard project management methodologies and tools. The Project Manager Specialist - IS may be assigned to cross-functional projects or to projects where initial requirements are not well understood. Works effectively across all functional areas of the organization as well as with key business partners to define and manage the execution of all qualifying projects. Works effectively with internal and external stakeholders, understanding business needs and formulating creative options for solutions. Key responsibilities include planning and tracking to completion project tasks and milestones, collaborating with functional managers on capacity planning and resource management of project team members, identifying and communicating risks and issues to management and sponsors in a timely manner, and proactively managing changes in scope through change control methods.

Responsibilities
  • Works with stakeholders from all organizations involved clarify project goals and objectives, scope, expected outcomes and resource needs and translate to detailed project plans. This will include gathering and understanding the business requirements to assist leaders in making decisions.
  • Manages project scope and ensure project tasks/deliverables are completed according to specifications and on time; identify and communicate issues to management and sponsors in a timely manner; proactively manage changes in scope through formal change control methods.
  • Proactively identifies project risks and work with stakeholders to mitigate barriers and obstacles to ensure achievement of business objectives and priorities.
  • Conducts regular project team meetings and produces timely project artifacts utilizing established standards (i.e., project charter, project plan schedule, team action items, team risks/issues log, team status reporting, etc.).
  • Identify and manage key project success criteria/metrics across departments to accurately report project performance.
  • Develop and maintain a repository for all project-related communications including work products, tracking logs, and reporting tools to communicate status and deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
    • 5 years of directly related experience
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams while handling multiple projects simultaneously as needed
    • Experience with presenting to executive level team
    • Understands complex and varied processes and/or multiple department needs as well as the basics of the health care industry.
    • Results-oriented and self-directed with demonstrated effectiveness with oral and written communication skills with proven experience presenting project information to representatives from all levels of the organization.
    • High customer orientation
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, problem solve under pressure of deadlines and resource constraints.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in applying project management methodology to deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
    • Ability to plan project life-cycle deliverables, identify and manage associated project resources.
    • Ability to manage project progress by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; tracking action items; conducting design and implementation reviews; examining, researching, and resolving issues; escalating issues to appropriate authority; coordinating requirements from stakeholders with business and technical teams.
    • Ability to meet cost standards by creating and managing the project budget through estimations, evaluation of actuals, and providing financial forecast.
    • Possesses the ability to work well in a dynamic, highly-matrixed environment, with multiple partner organizations and project resources.


    Required Licensure/Certifications

    - Special certification may be required; PMP would be desirable.
