Position Summary



The Value Improvement Office (VIO) Project Management Office (PMO) division is responsible for a range of activities related to the design, planning, execution, facilitation, implementation, and completion of non-information technology operational projects adhering to timeline, budget, and scope. They oversee all aspects of MemorialCare VOI PMO projects and are responsible for working closely with the project stakeholders, including vendor management. Throughout the course of projects, they assign responsibilities, monitor and report on progress of projects, as well as prepare reports for leadership regarding the status of the project.

The Project Manager provides consulting, scoping analysis, and overall project management related to the organization’s operational initiatives. The role is responsible for utilizing the end-to-end project management process from executive approval through governance, planning, implementation to warm hand off to operations, and post-go-live review. This position works independently with executive leaders, multi-disciplinary teams across the healthcare system, and external stakeholders to manage and successfully implement each project and acts as the point of accountability for delivering large scale, complex, and cross-functional implementations on time and on budget.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Establish and maintain good relationships with executive sponsors and team members in order to define the scope of projects
  • Ability to establish and manage high-performing multidisciplinary teams to establish clear communications channels regarding project status and to effectively escalate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Understands and applies Lean principles to assigned projects as well as the individual’s project management skillset
  • Using strong facilitation and effective communication skills, manage project and program related meetings and communications.
  • Manage all phases of assigned projects, including identifying and defining project requirements, defining scope and objectives, as well as preparing project proposals, timeframes, and overall schedule
  • Assist stakeholders in making sure overall project needs and objectives are understood and executed
  • Identify and resolve problems of varying complexity as well as conduct root cause analysis of problems and take actions to prevent recurring instances of issue
  • Create and maintain documentation, plans, templates, and reports on assigned tasks
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and oversee expenditures
  • Manage project resources and equipment
  • Monitor and report on progress against established project milestones

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements



Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years project management or relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated understanding of key areas of the healthcare business
  • Understanding and application of Lean, process improvement discipline
  • Demonstrated high energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity
  • Past success leading project with multiple business stakeholders, technical resources, and third parties for solutions
  • Proven knowledge of PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering and process improvement techniques, information management in healthcare, systems integration, and basic project finance regulations
  • Experienced in leading projects, providing expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives, effectively dedicating time across more than one project, and meeting established deadlines
  • Proven ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Suite Products required
  • Demonstrated analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; able to interact with individuals across all departments
  • Experienced exercising good judgment in fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, with competing priorities


Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare experience required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent PMI recognized certification preferred
  • Lean Certification preferred
