We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer with a broad background in civil or geotechnical engineering to support a growing design engineering practice. The candidate must have a strong foundation in civil and/or geotechnical engineering theory with creativity in problem solving, experience with preparation of design package (drawings, calculations, specifications) and project management.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide and support program and project management for a variety of large civil engineering projects.
  • Support development of scopes of work and proposals.
  • Develop and lead field exploration, data collection and lab testing programs.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams on larger civil design projects (dams, landfills, slope stabilizations, excavation shoring).
  • Perform calculations and analyzing models, coordinate drafting and drawings in CAD.
  • Prepare engineering reports and design memoranda with recommendations, contract documents (specifications and plans) with support of our design group.
  • Perform field oversight and technical consultation during construction.
  • Provide construction phase services to the owner (submittal reviews, RFIs, etc.).
  • Provide direction and assistance in recruiting, mentoring, and training staff both technically and professionally.


Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent degree; MS, MEng or PhD is preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural or Water Resources fields.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, and ability to work well alone or in team atmospheres.
  • Willing and able to travel for meetings and short- and medium-term field assignments.
  • Licensure as Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain.
  • Experience in the Southeast region preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
