Job Summary

We are seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager to work on the Project Management team in UM Health Operations, Ancillary Services, and Safety. The successful candidate will work on the development and implementation of short and long-term strategies, policies, procedures, practices, and programs.

Responsibilities*
  • Responsible for the management, performance, and completion of multiple concurrent projects and serves as the single point of contact for these projects.
  • Develop detailed work plans, scheduled, project estimates, resource plans, status reports and projections.
  • Maintain effective and transparent documentation.
  • Effectively communicate stakeholder requirements to team members and assign tasks; communicates project progress to all stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with project or initiative teams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication planning and deliverables for projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare written communications and presentations for a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
  • Identify and assess issues and risks, determine system improvements and escalate appropriately.
  • Resolve issues and manage changes and interventions to achieve project outputs; manage to consensus among stakeholders with disparate viewpoints.
  • Schedule and lead meetings
  • Produce supporting documentation to maintain sustainability of projects and processes
  • Assign individual responsibilities to project team members/participants, and regularly follow up on progress.

Required Qualifications*
  • Education/Experience
    • Intermediate: Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of related project management experience OR equivalent combination of education and work experience with a demonstrated ability to perform high-level quality work.
    • Senior: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related project management experience OR equivalent combination of education and work experience with a demonstrated ability to perform high-level quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead project teams
  • Experience with project management software/tools
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate the inner workings of a complex organization
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to function as an effective member of a thoughtful, collaborative, and highly productive team

  • Project Management Professional Certificate
  • Experience in healthcare operations

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes .

This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days/week on-site. On occasion, the successful candidate may be required and must be available to work on-site more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership and/or the job.

Underfill Statement

This position is posted as a Project Senior Manager with the ability to underfill as a Project Intermediate Manager depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
