Project/Task Sr Manager (PMO/Schedule Management)

Our work depends on a Project/Task Sr Manager joining the project team to ensure that contractual obligations are met for systems support and process integration, procedures, and document preparation for the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of an Omni-Channel and Main Door call center solution. You will work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and collaborative environment which requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills. You will coordinate the activities required to meet the project and quality standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

HOW A PROJECT/TASK SR MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

High Level Responsibilities:
  • Manage and responsible for the successful completion of all PMO tasks including project schedule management, project operations management, deliverables management, and resource management.
  • Manage and maintain the project schedule in MS Project and tools such as JIRA.
  • Manage program operations, PMO operations (asset/license mgmt., resource mgmt., program operations mgmt. (on/off boarding, etc.)).
  • Manage and maintain program applications such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
  • Manage customer expectations toward project deliverables, milestones, and software implementation methodology.
  • Develop and review plans, project schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents.
  • Prepare and provide various client or leader "ready" reports and statuses to the client and GDIT senior management, as requested.
  • Facilitate and/or manage the satisfactory resolution of issues for all parties involved in the engagement; escalate issues as deemed appliable.
  • Manage and monitor program risks, issues, and mitigation plans and lead review and planning meetings with the program and client leadership. Manage the risk tracking process.
  • Provide technical, administrative, and operational leadership to the project and PMO tasks.
  • Participate in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and task order, and administrative reporting, as needed.
  • Provide expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for complex business process engagements.
  • Identify outsourcing opportunities, streamlining, centralizing, business improvement processes, SDLC improvement processes, vendor selection, and eliminate duplication.
  • Use quantitative analysis methodology to perform data, cost and benefit, and/or process measurement analysis.
  • Research industry trends for recommendation/application/implementation of process improvement techniques and best practices.
  • Partner with business process owners and management on strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct planning and provide recommendations to client on task workload.
  • Attend customer meetings and may serve as client liaison.
  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate development of deliverables and products.
  • Ensure quality assurance of project deliverables.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Provide time estimates for project related tasks and assist in prioritizing tasks.
  • Comply with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
  • Participates in special projects, as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • BA/BS or 5+ years of related work experience work equivalent. A master's or similar advanced degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of program schedule management in MS Project and using online tools such as Microsoft online, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience with using earned value management.
  • Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow
  • Experience with Hybrid (Agile-Waterfall) SDLC
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, to collaborate with customers and internal cross functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and strict attention to detail.
  • Strong analysis, problem-solving experience, good decision-making skills, and ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver on time with quality, as well as interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to handle demanding situations with clarity, focus and professionalism.
  • Experience and comfortable in a project start-up environment.
  • Recent system modernization project experience preferred.
  • PMP certification, process improvement and/or business analysis certifications, a plus.
Location: Remote with travel to Austin, TX.

Timeline: This position is contingent and expected to start in late July of 2024.

The likely salary range for this position is $120,700 - $163,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
