Position Purpose:
\n
This position provides real estate and right-of-way services for the Property and Right-of-Way division. This position supports all other Property and Right-of-Way staff, as directed.
\n
Essential Functions:
\n
    \n
  • Assist with all right-of-way and property management requirements.
  • \n
  • Contact landowners for survey and other permission uses.
  • \n
  • Obtain property information and provide support with title work.
  • \n
  • Assist with easement negotiations for new Right-of-Way (ROW) Projects, with settling property damages, and work with contractors in reclaiming property.
  • \n
  • Work with landowners on leasing property as Lessor or Lessee.
  • \n
  • Support Transmission Systems Maintenance with landowner contact for vegetation management and other transmission line maintenance tasks.
  • \n
  • Perform data entry on spreadsheets and the Land Management Software for new and updated property and ROW parcel information.

Qualifications:
\n
Right of Way Agent:
\n
    \n
  • Two-year degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field, and one year of related experience in right-of-way, real estate, farming, or land management; or
  • \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and three years of related experience in right-of-way, real estate, farming, or land management.
  • \n
\n
Right of Way Specialist:
\n
    \n
  • Two-year degree in agriculture, business administration, or related field and three years of experience in right-of-way, real estate, farming, or land management; or
  • \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and five years of related experience in right-of-way, real estate, farming, or land management.
  • \n
\n
Other Requirements:
\n
    \n
  • Knowledge of real estate, farming operations, and engineering and construction practices.
  • \n
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic negotiation and property title search experience; map reading capability, and grammatical skills.
  • \n
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, GIS applications, and personal computers.
  • \n
  • Able to prioritize workload, work through multiple projects at once, respond to short notices, and provide direction to others.
  • \n
  • A valid driver's license. This is a Department of Transportation (DOT) (FMCSA) (non-CDL) qualified position.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
\n
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, frequently working outdoors, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of a keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information. It also requires the ability to read and understand maps and legal descriptions, develop plans, procedures, and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. Incumbent must effectively be able to work alone, in a team environment, and on multiple projects at one time. This position requires about 50% travel with occasional overnight stays.
