Job Summary: The Prospect Research Analyst II identifies and provides research information on individual, corporation, and foundation major gift prospects to assist individuals within and outside the University who conduct University advancement programs. The research provided by this position is vital to the successful advancement activities of the President, Vice President for University Advancement, Associate Vice President for Development, and Deans and Advancement/Development Officers in the University's colleges, schools, and other divisions.
Additional Department Summary: Identifies and provides research information on high level individual, corporation, and foundation major gift prospects, prioritizing due diligence reputation research, principal ($5 million+) donors and prospects or those donors and prospects assigned to the University President or other high ranking university officials, to assist individuals within and outside the University who conduct University advancement programs. The research provided by this position is vital to the successful advancement activities of the President, Vice President for University Advancement, Associate Vice President for Development, and Deans and Advancement/Development Officers in the University's colleges, schools, and other divisions. The research this position completes informs the prospect strategy with the University's most generous donors and significant supporters.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR master's degree.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience to include one (1) year of prospect management and/or research experience; OR master's degree and some prospect management and/or research experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in researching donors. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals verbally and in writing. Ability to provide training to junior analysts. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Strong editing skills and be detail oriented. Strong computer skills to including assessing new software and services. Self-motivated and well organized. Some research related coursework. Maintain strict standard of confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications: Prospect research, prospect management, development, library research or information related field preferably in a higher education environment. Knowledge of the range of resources available to prospect researchers and the ability to apply those resources in an organized and purposeful manner.
