What We Do:

OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

Salary Information:

$2,000.00 New Hire Sign on Bonus, $1,000.00 paid at 120 days, $1000.00 paid at 365 days. No contract or length of terms
  • $31.86 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $33.40
  • Additional $1.25 per hour shift differential for 2 nd and 3 rd shift
  • Additional $3.09 per hour for hours worked 2:30 pm - 7:00 am
  • Additional hourly retention supplements available for education and certifications up to 15%
  • Annual increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service
7:00 am - 7:30 pm

The "Variable/Posted schedule" is defined as:

a. Six 12-hour shifts per pay period

b. Six days may or may not be consecutive

c. "Posted schedule" may be used to cover vacancies, Request for Leave, long term leaves of absence or other scheduling opportunities as needed.

d. Per Article 24.12 Posting of the Work Schedules a four-week schedule shall be posted (2) weeks in advance.

e. The "Posted Schedule" will be not changed once posted without mutual agreement between the employee and their scheduler or designee.

f. "Posted Schedule" days may vary from week to week and pay period to pay period - there is no guarantee of the schedule containing the same six days each pay period.

g. Variable/Posted position may pick up OT and will need 80 hours of work prior to receiving overtime pay.

h. Shifts and assignments are based on organizational need.

i. A letter of Agreement will need signed by both parties.

The Job Opportunity and Duties:

What you will do:
  • Serve in a fundamental role as an interdisciplinary treatment team member for psychiatric patients creating and executing treatment plans
  • Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior, condition, & response to medication
  • As charge nurse, initiate and direct psychiatric and nursing care for patients and provide support for nursing staff while promoting a positive and safe environment for recovery
  • Contributes vital input on records, plans, and reports
  • Facilitate patient group activities

You Also Need to Know:
  • Must be able to complete a 4 week (business days Monday-Friday) full time orientation
  • May work weekends and holidays; may be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior
  • Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment
  • Biennial renewal of licensure as registered nurse
