Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Psychology in the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences welcomes applicants for the position of Center for Psychological Services and Development (CPSD) Associate Director.
The VCU Center for Psychological Services and Development (CPSD) is in the Psychology Department. It provides the foundational practice component of the department's American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited doctoral counseling and clinical psychology training programs, bridging the gap between coursework, research, and practice. Our doctoral students work closely with licensed faculty supervisors to provide high-quality treatment and assessment based on current research and clinical best practices. The CPSD offers outpatient services to VCU and Central Virginia community members. Services are available to individuals of all backgrounds and ages - from preschoolers to seniors - and couples and families of all types. The Department of Psychology in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University is an innovative unit with a robust research portfolio and teaching mission. It is a diverse department with over 40 faculty members from varying backgrounds. The department serves a student body of over 1,700 undergraduate students and over 120 graduate students.

Position Responsibilities: The CPSD Associate Director supports the mission of the CPSD, under the direct supervision of the CPSD Director and Department Chair, to provide: (1) clinical supervision for Clinical and Counseling Psychology doctoral practicum students; and, (2) administrative support with the APA accreditation renewal process for the APA-accredited Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Specifically, the CPSD Associate Director will supervise the following: (1) students learning to provide evidence-based therapeutic services, (2) students learning to administer psychological assessments, (3) students learning to write integrated assessment reports, and (4) students learning to provide feedback to child, adolescent, and adult clients based on a variety of referral questions. Additionally, the CPSD Associate Director will be responsible for didactic training of assessments and diagnostic batteries and will be assigned other administrative duties, as needed.

Required Qualifications: •A doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program by start date.
•Completion of an APA-accredited predoctoral internship by start date.
•Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
•Clinical experience providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults.
•Experience administering cognitive measures, achievement measures, personality measures, career measures, and mental status exams.
•Experience providing clinical supervision to doctoral students in mental health services.
•Experience providing clinical supervision to doctoral students in mental health assessments.
•Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a department member at VCU.
•Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
•Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail.
•Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: •Administrative experience within clinical or other settings.
•Proficiency with an electronic medical records (EMR) system or client management software system.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally interact with all levels of administration, staff, faculty, students, clients, external agencies, and institutions.
