One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

Duties
As a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST at the GS-1035-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Identify communication needs and develop and execute communication strategies, goals, and objectives, processes, and materials to meet those needs while synchronizing and integrating communication messages with those from higher headquarters.
- Execute a comprehensive Public Affairs exercise/event integrating media relations, social media, community/Congressional relations, internal information, visual information, communication planning, and contingency/crisis response.
- Conduct formal media (traditional and social) assessment and content analysis against previously developed baseline and across the competition and conflict continuum.
- Research and recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues considering social/political environment. Advise on the potential public reaction to proposed policies, plans, and actions.
- Represent JPSE with a variety of installations, local government, public, civic, service, industry, educational, and media organizations. Plan, organize, execute, and evaluate the public affairs/communication aspects of command sponsored or supported joint training events.
