What You'll Do
  • Provides technical assistance concerning planning, implementation and evaluation of public health and healthcare preparedness programs.
  • Implements strategies and goals for local projects that are programmatically out of compliance.
  • Monitors and evaluates accomplishments of funded projects through on-site visits, individual phone contacts, conference calls and email communication.
  • Participates in annual sharing meetings with regional project staff for the purpose of discussing adherence to proposed action plans to the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) public health, healthcare preparedness guidelines and federal grant requirements.
  • Develops and presents education activities and materials related to the public health and health preparedness performance measures, goals, objectives, and benchmarks.
  • Assists supervisor in preparing the sub-recipient requests for proposal (RFPs) from the Bureau of Health Preparedness.
  • Reviews sub-recipient program progress reports, projects/summarizes objectives, activities, and evaluates spending.
  • Reviews regional and other local grant and contract proposals submitted to ODH for funding through federal public health and healthcare preparedness grant funds to determine appropriateness and levels of funding, needed revisions, necessary conditions for funding.
  • Schedules and chairs external grant review process for competitive applications.
  • Recommends approval or disapproval of the grant request.
  • Monitors subgrants and reviews and approves budget revisions, expenditure reports, mid-year and end of year progress reports and performance measure data.
  • Applies special conditions and makes recommendations for subgrant funding.
  • Monitors and coordinates compliance to subgrant performance measures as they relate to public health and healthcare preparedness.

Qualifications

  • 6 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups;
  • Completion of graduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.


OR

  • 18 mos. exp. in providing direct service &/or consultation in a public health, community health, hospital &/or clinic setting, to include exp. in program evaluation, grant review, developing & presenting training programs & in facilitating &/or working collaboratively with coalitions or groups;
  • Completion of undergraduate core coursework in public health, health care, health administration or related field; must be able to provide own transportation.

  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
