PREPARE RESEARCH STORIES
Working with the research story budget, gather facts, interview subjects, write the story, obtain edits, and implement a distribution strategy for research news releases. The Senior Director of Marketing & Communications will have final approval authority of the story.

Working closely with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and the Public Relations Coordinator, prepare and prioritize a schedule of stories that will highlight the various accomplishments and successes at the college.

At the discretion of the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and the Public Relations Coordinator, this position may be asked to assist in other activities and/or services related to promoting the college.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

The position will be dedicated to writing news releases and some research stories for the College of Pharmacy in order to promote and accelerate the college's brand and positioning.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

A background and/or proven working knowledge of preparing news releases as well as science/technical stories.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Organizational, time management, communication and human interaction skills that will complement a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret a dense science topic and distill it to a message in lay terms.
  • Ability to interview and interact with staff, research scientists, and pharmacy faculty.
