The Purchasing Administrative Assistant provides day-to-day general administrative support to the purchasing team for a fast-paced lumber sales company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process replenishment orders as directed.
  • Track materials and inventory levels.
  • Process transfers of stock to the differing branches.
  • Audit purchase orders and system entries for accuracy.
  • Provide general administrative support including: copying, transcription, document distribution, and scanning.
  • Serve as an initial point of contract for vendors and employees.
  • Enter freight allocations and disbursements.
  • Research issues and questions.
  • Serve as point of contact for outlying branches and customers.
  • Prepare inventory and other related reports for distribution.
  • Maintain filing system and archiving.
  • Assist with special projects, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) years of related administrative or sales work.
  • Skill in the use of Windows, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Access at a beginner level.

Preferred
  • Associate's degree or vocational certification from a business or computer school.
  • Construction/contracting experience.
  • Experience supporting the lumber sales industry.
