PW1000 Aftermarket Project Engineer (18mo Rotation)

The PW1100G-JM Customer Technical Service (CTS) department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The candidate will be primarily focused on, and operate out of the Columbus Engine Center, located in Columbus, GA. Our focus is to manage and resolve technical issues for PW1000G-JM hardware to ensure engine safety, reliability, and to maintain competitive advantage relative to operational parameters such as Delays and Cancellations (D&Cs), In-Flight-Shut-Down (IFSD) rate, reduction of maintenance burden, and support Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO)

This position reports to the Aftermarket Senior Manager of the PW1100G-JM CTS organization. This team coordinates with the responsible P&W organization, MROs, and partner companies (JAEC/MTU) to ensure engine overhauls are proceeding smoothly. This is accomplished by closely coordinating with and assisting CTS engineers for assessment and acceptance of engine hardware which is outside Engine Manual limits. In addition, the successful candidate will identify process improvements required to address issues identified as well as opportunities to optimize engine overhaul process time.

Responsibilities include:

In this position, you will be the primary contact for the Columbus Engine Center for all technical issues and questions directed to the CTS Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) team for the GTF engine platform. Key deliverables for this position are as follows:

Provide support to MRO shops by ensuring technical data availability and resolution of technical issues in a timely fashion

Act as conduit from the CEC into CTS to drive our efficiencies and on time delivery. Work closely with the CEC to identify and understand potential work-stops, and the best course of action for resolution

Team with the CTS Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) team to create solutions and drive the broader organization to meet the needs of the Global GTF MRO Network. Assist CTS engineers by providing Engine Center context to optimize the resolution path. Represent CTS at key GTF Operational meetings

Basic Qualification:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years' of experience engine overhaul or 3+ years' of experience with an advance degree
  • Project Management, cross-functional leadership experience

Preferred Qualification:
  • Previous experience working with engine overhaul shops
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of engine hardware, processing of engineering changes, Service Bulletins, and One Time Concessions (OTCs)
  • Understanding of engine overhaul shop practices
  • Customer Technical Support experience a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills and communications skills are essential.
  • Experience communicating with all level of management
  • Familiarity with drafting and updates of various technical documentation procedures located in Engine Manuals
