Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Python Developer to join one of our largest financial clients in Jersey City and/or NYC 3 days a week. This person will be joining the Market Data Technology & Services team within the Applications Production Services and Engineering group (APS&E). (MDT&S) is responsible for the full product lifecycle for News, Real-time, Reference and Index data across the firm. The Engineering & Development group are responsible for the architecture and development of market data technologies deployed at the firm and the team's goal is to provide a reliable managed market data service that can be used by business groups to facilitate the dissemination of pricing data globally in the firm.

On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be writing, developing and maintaining code, debugging software, integrating third party code and APIs, and writing unix scripts that are the interface between internal systems that enable straight through processing and automation of services. They will be providing 3rd level support as the highest level of internal technical escalation. Experience in financial market applications, exchange data and internal trading flows is a huge plus.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

5+ years of experience as a Python Developer

Develop integrations, frameworks and related operational tools in Python

Understanding of RESTful principles, best practices and related technologies

Experience in Linux and Windows operating environments

Experience with Unix/Shell and Perl Scripting

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

CI/CD Tooling (Git, Jira, Ansible)

Good knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, Routing Protocols, Security)

Experience in micro services/full stack development

Experience in financial market applications, exchange data and internal trading flows
