Job Summary: Responsible for the quality implementation of project deliverables to support Sammons Financial Group (SFG) member companies' systems. This position will work closely with project teams and Business Users to ensure timely, accurate, fully tested applications are performing as described in the business and technical specifications.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead or conduct testing for small to moderately complex projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Team to define testing deliverables:
  • Participate in review of business requirements and definition of acceptance criteria. Document traceability of business requirements and technical specifications to test cases. Facilitate agreement on test plans or acceptance criteria with business partners and project team members.
  • Estimate test planning and execution efforts based upon requirements, development approach, and the risks and impact of production errors.
  • Communicate testing risks, milestones, and status of assigned tasks to help define/provide input into risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work with Management and the Project Team to deliver assigned tasks within the established timelines.
  • Ensure the integrity of the test environment(s).
  • Facilitate Sprint Reviews or ensure production announcements are created and distributed.
  • Design and develop automated scripts. Define and manage test data for automation.
  • Execute testing, validate test results, analyze and report discrepancies, and collaborate on problem resolution efforts to identify if an immediate solution or sustained enhancement is required.
  • Complete testing objectives against plan and pro-actively communicate status to project team and management; report on readiness for elevation to production.
  • Compile and report test metrics. Provide proactive input into test strategy and recommend improvements to test cases for future project reuse.
  • Ensure documentation is in alignment with the SFG SDLC guidelines and quality assurance standards are followed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree business or information technology related major preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' quality assurance experience related to the development and execution of test cases and analysis of testing results preferred
  • Experience with test automation tools preferred
  • Experience working in Agile teams preferred
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft tools such as Word and Access. Ability to understand & create SQL queries preferred
  • Understanding of complex life and/or annuity products, processes and methodologies preferred
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with a variety of personalities, across locations and varying organizational levels
  • Ability to research, analyze and resolve problem situations using good judgment and sound decision making skills
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and effectively work under deadline pressures on small to moderately complex projects
