A top employer in the medical device industry is looking for a 2nd shift QC Receiving Inspector to join their team in Irvine, CA 92618. The QC Receiving Inspector will be responsible for thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and final products. This role encompasses evaluating plastic, metal, and electronic components to ensure they meet stringent quality standards, as well as performing administrative tasks related to quality control.

Some responsibilities of the QC Receiving Inspector will include but are not limited to:
- Conducting inspections of medical device components, subassemblies, and finished goods, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Performing receiving inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify conformity to specifications.
- Assessing the acceptability of materials and identifying defects, recommending improvements as per established procedures.
- Using measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and optical measuring tools (e.g., Keyence, CMM).
- Reviewing Lot History Records (LHRs) for accuracy and completeness.
- Initiating non-conformance reports (NCR) for products that do not meet requirements.
- Collaborating with production technicians to support the production schedule while adhering to quality system procedures.

LOCATION:
- Irvine, CA 92618

SCHEDULE:
- Monday - Thursday
- 4/10 schedule (4 days per week, 10 hour shifts)
- 2nd Shift starting at 3 PM - 1 AM

TRAINING:
- Training will be conducted on the 1st shift: 7 AM - 3:30 PM for 4 weeks

Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2+ years of Quality Control Inspection experience in the medical device or aerospace industries.
- Experience with receiving inspection, in-process, and final inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with AQL sampling methods and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using basic lab tools and computer software for documentation and reporting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in identifying non-conformance and preparing NCRs (strong preference).
- Understanding of FDA/GMP/ISO regulatory environments.
- Previous experience with First Article Inspection (FAI).
- higher education (associates degree or higher) preferred.
