Additional description
As a direct report to the Quality and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager, the Quality and HSE Specialist will assist the Quality and HSE Manager and other members of management to coordinate the implementation and improvement of the SDS Inc. AS9100D Quality and HSE programs and activities across the organization.

Support receiving inspection and supplier quality activities in the Norcross, GA facility.

Evaluate SDS drawings for quality requirements.

Create Receiving Inspection criteria based on drawings, past trends, and customer requirements.

Track and evaluate supplier NCM data for trends and recommend appropriate actions.

Inspect incoming products from suppliers to ensure they conform to PO requirements.

Work with production, supply chain and sales to resolve supplier issues.

Conduct safety audits and workplace risk assessments as required.

Assist with the investigation of HSE near misses.

Conduct internal audits per the internal audit schedule.

Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to non-conformances and on time delivery.

Manage supplier ratings and track products.

Support document control process.

Facilitate and participate in continuous improvement and cost savings activities.

Support and participate in HSE system and initiatives.

Candidate skills & requirements
-BS Degree or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
-Strong problem-solving skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to analyze complex issues to identify root cause and corrective actions.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Visio
-Detail oriented, self-starter and comfortable working both independently as well as in a team.
-Customer Orientation - positive outlook and desire to do what is best for the customer.
-Experience working in AS9100D or ISO-9001 quality system.
-Knowledge of dimensional Inspection and ability to interpret drawings.
