A Quality Assurance Analyst (QA) is the last stop before system changes go to production, so understanding the systems and the Companys needs are important. A QA will not only understand the requirements but also the reasons behind the initiative and test from quality of product standpoint. They will partner with stakeholders within and outside of IT to understand requirements, build test strategy, document test cases, and enable automation. The QA will start by becoming an expert on one of the key systems, but over time, learn all the systems in the eco-system to increase their versatility. These systems can include but are not limited to the quoting websites, financial/general ledger, bureau/ISO reporting, forms applications, policy, agency, and claims management systems.

Essential Functions

Build the test strategy and test cases for the project/product assigned by converting requirements to testing documentation.
Conduct testing using available tools and methodologies used by the team.
Build traceability matrix for requirements and test cases as needed.
Report on the testing status on an ongoing basis, including % complete, bugs found, bugs fixed, and other KPIs.
Work with QA Automation tools to build automation scripts/test cases as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field
At least 2 years of experience in testing Insurance-based systems.
Experience in testing system-to-system integration, including data validation, website validation, Policy (and/or Billing and/or Claims) system testing.
Experience in testing within Agile / Scrum and Waterfall methodology.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in defect-tracking applications and processes.
