Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for verifying the quality of CNO products via feature and/or regression testing. The QA Engineer will work as an embedded member of an Agile development team alongside software developers, business analysts, and/or product owners.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Working closely with other development and product roles in an Agile SDLC environment
  • Maintaining the test repository, keeping it organized, and respecting the content index.
  • Executing tests to check reported application issues, ensuring quality, and deciding if more development resources are needed. Updating test data and creating detailed bug reports for issues found.
  • Managing and delivering assigned enhancements within the sprint cycle by executing test cases and regression sets, ensuring they meet acceptance criteria. Agreeing to complete assigned work on time and learning to estimate test efforts.
  • Creating test cases for projects, ensuring they meet feature specifications.
  • Developing test cases according to standard procedures, analyzing project requirements, and submitting them for peer or lead review.
  • Managing change on tickets by tracking progress and updating the status as test cases are created and executed.
  • Learning new features, tools, and processes when required
The Quality Assurance Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:
  • Have knowledge of Basic Software Test Types and Testing Scenarios.
  • Are a strong communicator and share any impediments or blockers to committed sprint work deadlines and/or possible process improvements.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and are able to perform a variety of tasks, manage competing priorities, and complete tasks on time in a fast-moving environment.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Are a critical thinker and can break down small feature requirements into an executable approach.
  • Are a fast learner and stay up to date with advanced QA concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Anticipate what end-users might do incorrectly (negative testing) to ensure a robust solution
  • Work well under pressure and handle stress during high activity and peak volume periods
What you'll need:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA Enigneer.
  • Willingness to work EST or CST business hours

  • 5+ years of previous experience as a QA Engineer
  • A focus on continuous learning and growth in your IT career
