1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)
Objective:
Support the quality department by ensuring products and processes, both internal and external, conform to applicable drawings, technical specifications, regulations and customer requirements. Drive activities required to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery and cycle time objectives throughout the production cycle. Measure performance, collaborate to develop process and product improvement plans, and enforce action measures as necessary to achieve business objectives. Position works under general supervision.

Authorities:
This position has the authority and right to control, command, and make decisions to ensure compliance to the company Quality procedures and processes. An additional authority received from the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) is to be delegated as a Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR) to issue FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthiness Approval Tags.

1. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Main Function Responsibilities

FAA related duties
• Issuance of FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthiness Approval Tags as a DMIR delegated by the FAA for Safran Seats USA(SSUSA):
• Domestic articles applying to FAA Function Code 1.
• Export articles applying to FAA Function Code 5.
• Assist with FAA audits.
• Assist with reporting information to the FAA.
• Participate as a SSUSA QA Partnership for Safety Plan (PSP) member.

Control the product realization process
• Following seat certification test plans perform conformity inspections, enter findings into EtQ, issue conformity statements, and witness seat certification testing.
• Assure shipment of product which meets the customer requirements - ship a product free of defects.
• Assure the product-process control according to the customer and company specifications.
• Define, monitor and evaluate the effectivity of quality plans and practices and maintain, follow up and control QRQC process.
• Collect, analyze and oversee data entry on relevant quality performance indicators, manage quality through quality data using quality tools such as EtQ and QMS.
• Enter nonconformities into EtQ.
• Make qualitative decisions on part conformity with SAFRAN applicable Quality requirements.

Customer Concerns / Complaints
• Work and support PQE's on the Customer concern regarding product quality issues, attend Customer Concern Review Board meetings as necessary.
• Ensure all CAPA analysis and actions are adequate to address the reported conditions.

APQP Support
• Perform FAI/PPAP related activities when required.
• Perform validation of new components, processes and tools as required.

Travel specifictity
Minimum or no travel required.

Additional description
Manage the documentation and records control process
• Generate, review, implement and maintain IMS documentation of quality department, work instructions, formats, etc.
• Review technical and performance specifications, quality documents and instructions.

Support the training process
• Provide on the job training as needed on quality criteria, customer complaints, etc.

Support material acquisition/receiving inspection process
• Investigate production and supplier non-conformance requests, provide feedback to the appropriate functions with evidence of nonconformity and drive and support internal actions to mitigate issues impact.
• Support on components FAI process to receiving inspection as required.

Support the continous improvement process
• Actively support the company continuous improvement initiatives and ensure Continuous Improvement objectives.

Quality Culture
• Promote Quality Culture.

Candidate skills & requirements
3. Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification: High School diploma or equivalent required. SSUSA QA Inspector, QA Inspector Production, or QA Inspector General preferred or equivalent. Must have, or be able to obtain, FAA DMIR delegation. Must have, or be able to obtain, SSUSA PSP delegation.

B. Work Experience: Two (2) years related experience in a quality role. Must receive FAA delegation as a FAA Designee and maintain status. Must be able to understand and follow FAA regulations. Must be able to successfully complete the process to become a SSUSA PSP member. Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, routing sheets, work orders, and procedure manuals. Must be able to interact with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers. Knowledge of AS9100D requirements.

C. Professional Skills: Ability to solve problems and think strategically. Ability to analyze data and make decisions accordingly. Perform work under direct supervision. Must be able to work cross functionally. Ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

General Work Conditions (Physical Demands): This position requires extended periods of standing, or sitting, while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.

Work environment: The work environment includes production floor with moderate noise.
