JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fox Technology Center (FTC) is host to an expanding list of Operational shared services that enable the monetization and distribution of content for FOX's internal and external partners. It takes a litany of complex systems and applications to manage the suite of products that encompass FTC services.

FOX is looking for a Quality Control Engineer that will be responsible for the definition, management, curation, and development of products and services that form the core of what FTC has to offer.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Quality Control Engineer, FTC you will be uniquely positioned in helping define the products and services that are delivered to our downstream partners. Responsibilities include:
  • Building out product views of new and existing services
  • Working with downstream partners and Affiliates to capture personas, analyze requirements, and define features
  • Working with Engineering and Operation teams to guide in the buildout out of supporting infrastructure and applications
  • Developing and managing the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) of the product portfolio
  • Working with internal and external partners in managing product resources and deliverables
  • Finding ways to improve upon existing products, and proposing ideas for new ones
  • Gaining insights into Operational efficiency and identifying new production models


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of FTC production processes, workflows, and applications
  • Manage the FOX Media Metadata Manager (SCTE 224) platform as a product
  • Documenting XML development processes, XML schema definitions, rules, and standards, as well as preparing progress reports.
  • Build and maintain a product view of the services offered by FTC
  • Work with upstream business users in growing the product portfolio
  • Work with downstream customers to build out product features
  • Work with Engineering to build out new products
  • Soft marketing of products to internal and external partners
  • Participate in Tier 3 on-call rotation support for the services you and your team develop and operate


WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Strong understanding of SCTE 224 Event Scheduling and Notification Interface (ESNI) Specifications
  • Strong understanding of SCTE 236 Content Metadata Specifications
  • Basic Programming Skills - e.g., Understanding about JSON / XML; Python
  • Experience in a Lead position managing teams
  • Familiar with a live sports channel origination and distribution environment
  • Strong understanding of OTT and Streaming Workflows
  • Experience using AWS or other cloud providers
  • Provides support to other Media Operations teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Helps develop new technology solutions together with the engineering team
  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure
  • Proven track record creating products and/or services
  • Adept at defining features and prioritizing them for MVP
  • Excellent at being collaborative and managing upwards
  • Great at analyzing requirements and understanding workflows
  • Creative in translating services to product features


NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiar with Salesforce Service Cloud CRM
  • Familiar with Coral Multi-Sided Platform (MSP)
