The business unit thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components is one of the leading automotive suppliers and development partners for highly complex drivetrain technologies. Summary

The Quality Control Intern is a technical support position within our Quality department. Providing support for quality lab in the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair of quality lab inspection equipment and repair/calibration of inline measuring and gauging equipment by performing the following duties. This position requires a strong commitment to safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned

The Quality Control Intern serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by decreased unplanned gauge down time and completing tasks on time. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting near misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Accurately diagnose quality lab measuring and inspection equipment problems, inline production measuring and gauging equipment problems, suggest appropriate solutions, implement corrective actions and confirm continued effectiveness of repair.
  • Support on performing preventive maintenance on new and existing gauge equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working with mechanical as well as electrical systems.
  • Supports on gauge studies.
  • Performs and documents incoming inspection of components.
  • Understands and applies control plans and product requirement specifications.
  • Writes and adheres to work instructions and procedures for gauge practices.
  • Has authority to stop processes to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, to identify and place suspect product on quality hold, and to promptly notify supervisory personnel when processes become noncompliant.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
  • Current student in a technical related area working on either their Associate's or Bachelor's in Engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical, but open to other disciplines.)

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.

ERP/MRP experience preferred.
