SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

As a Quality Engineer will be responsible for customer satisfaction, supporting strategic objectives, and ensuring the compliance to Senior's QMS processes. QE will provide engineering support using statistical analysis, 6 sigma tools, along with other methods to improve the quality of manufacturing at the facility. The Quality Engineer will additionally provide launch support for new programs, engineering changes, and process improvement efforts to obtain the company's goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead or assist in root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Customer and supplier support for the operations' teams. Understanding of GD&T, 6 sigma, 8D analysis, 5-Why, amongst other methods to facilitate corrective actions and process improvement.
  • Manage the approval process (PPAP) and assist program launch initiatives by supporting APQP assignments and customer validation requirements
  • Collect data and perform analysis in order to improve current processes. Work with engineering as support to implement changes, which effectively improve the QMS. Lead projects and activities that support company's strategic objectives.
  • Participate in internal audit program and perform audits as scheduled. Ensure all non-conformances are closed properly per Senior's QMS
  • Analyze processes for production and develop the most efficient method of testing critical factors
  • Evaluate and incorporate the measuring techniques used to ensure conformance to requirements and assist in training production employees in their use.
  • Organize and execute capability studies and other process related experiments.
  • Prepare and update Control Plans as required using APQP techniques
  • Prepare certification packages for customers
  • Assign and instruct Quality Technicians on their process checks, validation work, along with other performance tasks needed to ensure compliance to the QMS. Work with CMM lab technician, Gage lab technician, and Materials lab technician, in creating a dynamic Quality inspection system.
  • Handle customer corrective action assuring that permanent corrective plans are implemented
  • Support, promote and cooperate in achieving Company mission regarding continuous improvement and teamwork goals
  • Monitor supplier performances and take actions to correct quality or delivery issues
  • Manage the approval process for new suppliers for use of prototype and production components
  • Visit new and existing suppliers for on-site audits and evaluations
  • Maintain LPA Admin system with assigning non-conformances and maintain schedule.
  • Update documents through the appropriate process.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience
  • Knowledge of Problem-solving tools 8D, 5Why, Fish bone, DMAIC.
  • Understanding of QA processes
  • Knowledge of PPAP
  • Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan)
  • Knowledge of DOE (Design and Experiments)
  • Knowledge of lean and 6 Sigma methodology
  • Working knowledge of ISO/TS-16949 and automotive/quality experience
  • GD&T knowledge required
