Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate timely and effective new product/program introduction up to a production ready stage, using Advance Quality Planning.
  • Lead efforts to minimize/eliminate product non-conforming conditions (parts specific).
  • Effectively work with all associated departments (i.e.: Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, Inspection, etc.), as well as suppliers, to meet individual customer specifications and requirements.
  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis efforts - both quality related and alternatives.
  • Coordinate the production, evaluation, and submission of prototype samples.
  • Lead and implement TS16949 program and all related activities, including documentation.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Personnel, towards improving product quality.
  • Serve as the main liaison between Suppliers & Customers, regarding product quality.
  • Compile production data and conduct statistical analysis as the means for improvement.
  • Prepare, and maintain sample submission packages (PPAP's), in line with individual customer requirements.
  • Coordinate the timely implementation of engineering changes and maintain files.
  • Responsible for all communication with the customer/sales.
  • Have ultimate responsibility for the timing through all phases of new programs until process sign-off. Program timing will be tracked utilizing industry standard timing/project methodology.
  • Responsible for calling, conducting and creating minutes for all reviews and related program meetings and internal/external communications
  • Have ultimate responsibility for customer satisfaction during all stages up to process sign off.
  • Lead and implement all AIAG best methods.
  • Establish and monitor Gauge & Fixture Calibration Schedule.
  • Develop and implement detailed Shop Floor related Instructions
  • All other related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.


Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Industrial Quality Standards and IATF 16949 and VDA System Requirements.
  • Exposure to new product/program introduction methodology, and related systems including PPAP.
  • Strong business competencies in the following areas: APQP, FMEA, advanced Statistics (SPC), Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving (8D), GDT and Decision-Making.
  • Experience dealing with Customers & Suppliers within the quality realm.
  • Competent in dealing with customer-specific requirements including Ford, Toyota, VW.
  • Strong interpersonal/behavioral competencies within the dynamics of Mentoring, Team Building, Interaction, and Communication (written and oral).
  • Lead auditor training an asset.
  • Ability to travel (as required).
  • Proficiency in the use of common computer software packages (including Excel) and MPACT software.

  • Please note that this position is located at the Woodbridge Chattanooga Formed Plastics facility located at 51 Lost Mound Drive, Unit 115, Chattanooga, TN 37406.
  • This position is a salaried non-exempt position and as such, entitled to overtime pay.
  • Schedule hours may be altered as required. Ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as requested, is required.
  • Production, management and customer needs may also necessitate a reduced (less than 40 hour) work week.
