The Quality Engineering team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate who excels in meeting tight deadlines and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will work independently and effectively build and maintain professional relationships with both external and internal teams at all levels across the company.



Responsibilities
  • Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and check fixture validations; play a key role in new product launches
  • Spearhead cross-functional problem-solving teams to drive process and product improvements; utilize QA methodologies to manage issue resolution, including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and implement quality standards as part of the Tesla Quality System to ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Support the creation of product specifications, tolerances, design and process FMEAs, and Design Verification Activities (DVAs)
  • Establish and maintain quality performance metrics, control plans, and inspection standards to ensure critical features are controlled throughout the assembly and production processes
  • Lead the review and disposition of nonconforming materials and manage control of discrepant products
  • Promote and uphold a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to a safer, more efficient, and enjoyable working environment within the Tesla team


Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in dimensional engineering, process design, process validation, part qualifications, check fixture design and qualifications, assembly methods, and design reviews
  • Demonstrated experience with quality problem-solving methods such as GD&T, fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, Design of Experiments (DoE), SPC, etc
  • Experience with a broad range of measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a robust quality mindset
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and support extended hours based on business and production needs
