Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our products and services adhere to the highest standards of quality, meeting both company benchmarks and end-user expectations. By addressing product conformance issues and implementing robust quality planning measures, you will play a critical part in our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products and associated documentation in compliance with L3Harris Workmanship Standards, engineering specifications, customer requirements, and other relevant criteria.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, height gauges, and scales to ensure product integrity.
  • Facilitate clear internal communication regarding acceptance testing challenges and collaborate with various departments, including test, manufacturing, engineering, and production inspection, to resolve issues.
  • Implement projects aimed at reducing touch time, defects, and cycle time, while ensuring proper handling and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Apply fundamental process control techniques, collect pertinent data, and analyze it to derive actionable business insights.
  • Execute corrective and preventive actions effectively, including root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), while maintaining control over nonconforming materials.
  • Educate and guide inspectors on inspection techniques and tools, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Draft, review, and update procedures, work instructions, and control plans to enhance quality processes.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements for continuous improvement in both processes and products, supporting inspectors in CI project execution.
  • Develop new processes, tools, and methods to support the achievement of quality objectives, with a solid understanding of AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with at least 4 years of related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections in accordance with L3Harris standards and requirements.
  • Proven experience in collaborative problem-solving and workload balancing within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
  • Background in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledge of Project Management, Lean tools, and Six Sigma principles.
