Job Description

Position requires performing inspection of receiving materials, work in process, final product, required packaging and shipping documents. Requires effective interface with Quality Engineers and Analysts. Works from ISO 9001 Quality procedures and instructions, technical data packages, and written and verbal instructions. Competent in the use of hand, mechanical and electronic inspection equipment and gages.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform First Article and First Piece inspections and sample approvals.
  • Perform First Piece, In - Process and Final Inspection of products produced by manufacturing.
  • Perform electrical testing on electronic assemblies, as required
  • Perform dimensional measurements on supplied and manufactured materials.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect materials using Inspection Sampling Plans.
  • Document and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. export and security regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • High School diploma or Trade School Certificate
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems, specifically the flow of material through a production system.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000, especially appropriate methods for the control of non-conforming product and assisting Quality Engineers with corrective action.
  • Working knowledge of the proper handling Electrostatic - Discharge - Sensitive Devices.
  • Knowledge of IPC - A - 610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies preferred.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Military and Commercial Packaging requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical workmanship standards preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and general familiarity with computer systems.
  • ASQ Quality Inspector Certification is desired.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess ability to work independently and as a member of team
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of material.
  • Must be highly safety conscious.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sitting - Upper body held upright in seated position for sustained periods of time.
  • Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs
  • Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position.
  • Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow surfaces.
  • Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Carrying objects - Grip and transport objects with the palms, fingers and arms.
  • Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

*Note: The noise and temperature levels in the work environment are usually moderate but subject to increased levels of cold and heat during extreme weather events.
