Tesla GigafactoryNevada is looking for an experienced Quality Leader for Battery Cells andEnergy Storage business. In this role you will build a world class quality teamand process to enable Tesla to deliver safe and reliable stationary energystorage solutions to drive the mission to accelerate the world's transitiontowards sustainable energy. This is a dynamic position where you work inpartnership with quality engineering and production, to assure products andprocesses to be built right first time, and continuously improve them to meet Customerexpectations and profitability goals.
The Manager provides hands-on support, leadership, and directionto their direct reports, and takes pride in their hands-on and analyticalabilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidatewill have a track record of significant achievements, tremendous drive, and awillingness to roll up their sleeves.


Responsibilities
  • Lead supervisors, and Technicians tosupport production lines in Gigafactory Nevada site
  • Manage all laboratories and its assets to ensure 27x7 support with trusted test results. Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests for labs and quality assurance equipment used in production and incoming inspection
  • Anticipate, comprehend, and implement laboratory operational requirements to support analysis for incoming quality and production in 24x7 manufacturing environment including:Lab facilities and environmental monitoring and control, Lab safety and adherence to any state, national or international requirements
  • Develop and Lead quality assurance team to support productionlines, laboratories and incoming material quality activities supportingimprovement initiatives across suppliers and manufacturing
  • Lead a qualityassurance team of labs and operations technicians and supervisors to supportproduction 24x7, implementing consistent standard work and training
  • Establish andmeet clear quality metrics and objectives for quality assurance activities inEnergy business
  • Developstandard work, training, performance metrics and development plan for qualityoperations and Labs teams to ensure that all products meet specifications andquality issues are prevented or addressed immediately
  • Drive professional problem solving and nurture a data driven teamwith advanced statistical, analysis and visualization skills
  • Supporta 24x7 global business with the needed sense of urgency to protect Teslacustomers and business, while enabling employee engagement, career growth,work-life balance, commitment, and a fun place to work
  • Develop and motivate a high performing team ofexceptional engineers, supervisors and technicians


Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical,Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
  • Six Sigma, CQE-ASQ or equivalent certifications are preferred
  • 5+years of experience in product development, quality system or program quality
  • 3+years of experience of Quality leadership in manufacturing and/or designing newproducts for high volume operations. Experience with battery cells and modulespreferred
  • Proven track record to build and lead a strongteam in a 24x7 manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in teambuilding, leadership development, training, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Analysis,and SixSigma tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritizein highly dynamic production environment
