The role you'll contribute: Rad Tech
Performs Radiographic imaging procedures. Positions, moves, and assists patients. Performs clerical duties. Performs basic patient care within scope of practice and to departmental standards. Responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities :
• Performs Radiographic imaging procedures.
• Cross train into CT, MRI or Mammography as needed.
• Positions patient and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist's standards, in a safe, timely manner.
• Processes radiographs, with correct patient demographic and examination information.
• Uses computer to enter and access patient information correctly and change procedure status and billing.
• Performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient record, filing and scheduling.
• Utilizes department computer system as needed for patient record keeping and scheduling.
• Positions, moves, and assists patients as needed to properly and safely complete Radiographs, to assist others to and from, as well as within the department or to assist patient movement.
• Moves, positions and manipulates stationary Radiographic equipment in order to safely complete requested procedure.
• Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment in a safe and effective manner, with proper attention to radiation, electrical and mechanical safety. Will also perform reference checks when needed and provide appropriate follow up to administration when needed.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• One year experience preferably in radiology or a new graduate of accredited radiologic technology program.
• Current ARRT certification Florida license in Radiography required.
• BLS required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Associate Degree
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, including C-arm and portable units. Utilizes Cerner HIS and PACS system. Basic PC knowledge required. Must be able to use and trouble shoot all equipment within department.
• Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant through geriatric age groups. Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval. Basic computer skills are needed for PACS, HIS/RIS and data entry.
