Summary:
A licensed practitioner responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes.

Performs a wide variety of radiologic and CT scan examinations in accordance with established and approved protocols, procedures and techniques.

Position Responsibilities:
• Performs diagnostic radiologic/CT scan procedures while employing practical and professional experience to provide high quality images for our patients based upon age, body habitus and/or disease process.

• Obtains and verifies all pertinent information prior to procedure to support the successful completion of the examination. Information to include physician order, patient history, previous reports, etc. Administers patient preparations according to established department protocols. Demonstrates concern for patient comfort, privacy and safety.

• Applies principles of radiation safety and protection at all times; i.e.: radiation safety shielding and applying measures to reduce radiation exposures whenever possible. Provides coverage for Diagnostic Radiology and CT scan department while coordinating patient flow and support patient volumes.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
Minimum of one year experience in CT preferred.

Required Education:
Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

N.J.DEP licensure required.

Advanced level ARRT certification in CT Scan preferred. If not CT certified, employee will be required to take the boards within one year of hire date.

CPR certification preferred.
